The Chevaliers de Québec fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Chevaliers de Québec's John Zoolingen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling John Zoolingen in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Toney Holden prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Titus Broussard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Toney Holden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hootalinqua's zone, Titus Broussard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toney Holden came out of the goal and Titus Broussard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norman Villanueva scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Toney Holden, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chevaliers de Québec's Norman Villanueva got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matt Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When Clemente Blanco came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Chevaliers de Québec fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clemente Blanco couldn't finish the play. Norman Villanueva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Hootalinqua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. After having played for 78 minutes, John Zoolingen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chevaliers de Québec's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Zoolingen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 79 played minutes Chevaliers de Québec got a freekick which was hit by Johnathan Beck. In the 81st minute, Titus Broussard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Toney Holden was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 86th minute Norman Villanueva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toney Holden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Chevaliers de Québec could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hootalinqua throughout the match.
