Angel Worley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordon Achin having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Kingsclear FC's zone, Ted Ivy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordon Achin came out of the goal and Ted Ivy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Kingsclear FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Dick Lara hit a great ball. Ted Ivy in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jordon Achin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman Hinson during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Steele AFC booed when Kingsclear FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Hinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Ivy couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Angel Worley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jordon Achin, 1-1. Angel Worley was extremely unlucky when he, in the 41st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The audience was convinced that Angel Worley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jordon Achin was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Gary McLaughlin made the kick off in the second half. Guillermo Bond charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Guillermo Bond the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
