The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to New Orleans FC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Stephan Knox hit a great ball. Andreas Lacombe fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 6th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. In the 8th minute Stephan Deniger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Altman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Netashquan booed when New Orleans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Best didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sang Keith came free, but Stevie Altman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Netashquan booed when New Orleans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim Cyr didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stevie Altman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sang Keith, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Stevie Altman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Deniger in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Netashquan's Ahmad Jernigan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stevie Altman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 34 minutes into the match, Ahmad Jernigan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stevie Altman. New Orleans FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ahmad Jernigan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sang Keith in the 36th minute of play. Stephan Deniger took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stevie Altman. Stevie Altman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 45 minutes into the match, Stephan Deniger notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of New Orleans FC's Stevie Altman. Stevie Altman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stephan Deniger made a kick off. After some careless play in the New Orleans FC defense, Stephan Deniger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stevie Altman. The New Orleans FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stevie Altman should have stopped the shot. Stevie Altman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan Deniger in the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Miguel Bain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute Stephan Deniger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Altman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmad Jernigan. If Mohammed Barajas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, Stephan Deniger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stevie Altman. Stephan Deniger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Willy Lafond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mohammed Barajas in the 80th minute of the match. Stevie Altman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stephan Deniger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, New Orleans FC's goalkeeper Stevie Altman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmad Jernigan. Netashquan's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
