In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brancepeth AFC's goalkeeper Otha Braden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Creighton's zone, Mitchel Smith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. René Bilodeau came out of the goal and Mitchel Smith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th match minute, Creighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Gilmore to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the game, Brancepeth AFC's Mitchel Smith nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. René Bilodeau made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Brancepeth AFC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Isaac Singletary hit a great ball. Otha Braden showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Preston Summers, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. The supporters of Creighton booed when Brancepeth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jermaine Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Preston Summers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Creighton's zone, Tyrell Christopher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. René Bilodeau came out of the goal and Tyrell Christopher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. René Bilodeau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tyrell Christopher's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. René Bilodeau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mitchel Smith in the 32nd minute. The audience was convinced that Valentin Sutherland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Otha Braden was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 36 minutes into the match, Preston Summers notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Brancepeth AFC's Otha Braden. Otha Braden was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Brancepeth AFC's Jean Norris got a free kick in the 43rd minute. If Preston Summers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 56th match minute, Creighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leslie Hanks to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Brancepeth AFC's Mitchel Smith got a free kick in the 59th minute. Valentin Sutherland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otha Braden having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Preston Summers lined in a short shot 2-3 behind a frustrated Otha Braden. After a rather tough play, Creighton's Jamison Gamache got a free kick in the 76th minute. Tyrell Christopher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without René Bilodeau having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Creighton's goal looked a bit too open when Mitchel Smith came free, but René Bilodeau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. René Bilodeau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitchel Smith in the 85th minute of play. Preston Summers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otha Braden having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Creighton's zone, Mitchel Smith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. René Bilodeau came out of the goal and Mitchel Smith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Preston Summers, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 96 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Otha Braden was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Creighton walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
