Étienne Lawrence went to the wrong direction when Cristobal Kessler was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 8th minute, Cameron Combs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Alonso Mack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donnell Altman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luc Khan in the 14th minute of play. Noble Ashby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Étienne Lawrence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 27 minutes, Thomas Ellis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bellakula's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Ellis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Noble Ashby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donnell Altman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luc Khan in the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The supporters of Elmira booed when Bellakula was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgil Bowers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Noble Ashby came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Étienne Lawrence could save by the left post. In the 54th minute, Noble Ashby reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Étienne Lawrence. The goal made the score 0-1. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donnell Altman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Noble Ashby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Bellakula's Shelby Delong broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bellakula's Luc Khan got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donnell Altman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luc Khan in the 80th minute of play. After 81 played minutes Elmira got a freekick which was hit by Thanh Willoughby. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Noble Ashby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elmira's supporters rose to their feet, but Noble Ashby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Étienne Lawrence breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Josh Ruff fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bellakula's protests and gave Josh Ruff a yellow card for diving instead. Josh Ruff hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Noble Ashby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute.
