Kristopher Roman struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Vincent Velazquez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thornhill. Kristopher Roman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Whitney Henrichon charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Whitney Henrichon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Whitney Henrichon hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Kristopher Roman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thornhill's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristopher Roman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vincent Velazquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the game, Carlton Griggs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maryfield AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thornhill the free kick. 25 minutes into the game, Maryfield AFC's Jarrett Locke nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donte Darling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 28th minute, Kristopher Roman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kristopher Roman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes of play, Thornhill's Kristopher Roman made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vincent Velazquez was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jarrett Locke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maryfield AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adolfo Cates in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kristopher Roman in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vincent Velazquez saved Maryfield AFC from getting behind. Vincent Velazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Blackman in the 68th minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Kristopher Roman notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Maryfield AFC's Vincent Velazquez. Vincent Velazquez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vincent Velazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Roman in the 82nd minute of play. Benito Parrish fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donte Darling having to interfere. If Kristopher Roman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Maryfield AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Blackman came free, but Vincent Velazquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vincent Velazquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Roman in the 98th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Thornhill had played much better football throughout.
