Burgis FC's Damien Bradshaw got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jonas Blackman came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Thornhill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Blackman couldn't finish the play. Burgis FC's Lynn Akers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristopher Roman in the 12th minute of play. After some careless play in the Burgis FC defense, Jonas Blackman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lynn Akers. The Burgis FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lynn Akers should have stopped the shot. Jamie Pinneau charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jamie Pinneau the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Burgis FC booed when Thornhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamie Pinneau didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Burgis FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kristopher Roman came free, but Lynn Akers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Louis Mahoney in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donte Darling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Damien Bradshaw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Donte Darling made a huge save. Damien Bradshaws short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Donte Darling to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Burgis FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Neal Goldman hit a great ball. Garry Heard was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 59th minute, Cory Wooten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Thornhill getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Bradly Hewitt hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Miguel Putnam sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thornhill's Donte Darling didn't even have to move. In the 66th match minute, Thornhill was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Triplett to maneuver through the defense. Louis Mahoney recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damien Bradshaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Damien Bradshaw notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Thornhill's Donte Darling. Donte Darling was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 92 minutes into the game, when Garry Heard put in a rough tackle. Miguel Putnam shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a rather tough play, Thornhill's Felix Triplett got a free kick in the 96th minute. Louis Mahoney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
