Gale Tinsley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Donnie L'Heureux came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Lawnhill AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donnie L'Heureux couldn't finish the play. Donnie L'Heureux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Walton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Wetaskiwin FC's Danny Lewis got a free kick in the 15th minute. Matt Boivin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Markus Tatum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Jordan Corey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Markus Tatum, 1-1. In the 41st minute Matt Boivin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Tatum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donnie L'Heureux stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Lawnhill AFC's zone, Matt Boivin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Markus Tatum came out of the goal and Matt Boivin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 55th minute, but Sebastian Walton got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Wetaskiwin FC hanging dry this time. Antone Bowman kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Donnie L'Heureux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Carroll Bonds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Walton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Markus Tatum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Boivin in the 69th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Wetaskiwin FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lawnhill AFC:s goal. In the 75th minute of the game, Lawnhill AFC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donnie L'Heureux in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastian Walton saved Wetaskiwin FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Wetaskiwin FC's zone, Donnie L'Heureux stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastian Walton came out of the goal and Donnie L'Heureux tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Gale Tinsley fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wetaskiwin FC's protests and gave Gale Tinsley a yellow card for diving instead. If Danny Lewis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lawnhill AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
