With a little luck, Maynooth's Earnest Devine got control of the ball when Matt Boivin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jordan Corey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earnest Devine having to interfere. A collision led to Maynooth getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Clay LaCaille hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jordan Corey in the 31st minute of play forced Maynooth's goalkeeper Earnest Devine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Collin Harden fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wetaskiwin FC's protests and gave Collin Harden a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Wetaskiwin FC got a freekick which was hit by Collin Harden. Earnest Devine came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Wetaskiwin FC's Matt Boivin. But to his dismay, Matt Boivin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Wetaskiwin FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Maynooth were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jordan Corey made a kick off. Earnest Devine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jordan Corey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matt Boivin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Earnest Devine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
