Gambo's Vince Jarrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omer Wise in the 10th minute of play. Eliseo DuLin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Parker Haley having to interfere. Vince Jarrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robt Hansen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Robt Hansen came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Sointula fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robt Hansen couldn't finish the play. Omer Wise sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Omer Wise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Robt Hansen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robt Hansen to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Vincent Rivard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gambo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincent Rivard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Parker Haley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Rivard, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Omer Wise in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The supporters of Sointula booed when Gambo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Asa Chaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sointula were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Gambo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nolan Bloom took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Nolan Bloom got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vince Jarrell quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Eliseo DuLin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Parker Haley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omer Wise got free with Vince Jarrell in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robt Hansen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Vince Jarrell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eliseo DuLin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sointula supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sointula would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
