Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stacey Arellano ran back to his position shaking his head. Stacey Arellano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Bobby Dwyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shemogue AFC's Donnie Key played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didier Molina in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Guy Reagan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hartland's Bobby Dwyer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Hartland from getting a goal against them. In the 37th match minute, Hartland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guy Francis to maneuver through the defense. Bobby Dwyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stacey Arellano, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 41 played minutes Hartland got a freekick which was hit by Bertram Godfrey. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stacey Arellano to make the kick off. After 63 minutes, Stacey Arellano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shemogue AFC and the Hartland players grew even worse after the yellow card. Didier Molina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Key having to interfere. With a little luck, Shemogue AFC's Donnie Key got control of the ball when Phil Beaupré tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 70 minutes, Antoine Carrington managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shemogue AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antoine Carrington was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Phil Beaupré's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Donnie Key firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hartland! Bobby Dwyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stacey Arellano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raymundo McDonough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Dwyer having to interfere. Guy Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. If Raymundo McDonough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Donnie Key made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Phil Beaupré sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hartland had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
