Haïti FC's Coy Marseau got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Clarence Pollard fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oakburn's protests and gave Clarence Pollard a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Oakburn got a freekick which was hit by Clarence Pollard. Géraud Burgess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28thth minute of the game Perceval Hollis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oakburn's René Desjardins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Coy Marseau might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over René Desjardins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Coy Marseau ran back to his position shaking his head. Perceval Hollis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 38th match minute, Oakburn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kent Patel to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 43 minutes into the game, when Abel Kern put in a rough tackle. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Haïti FC! Wawrzyniec Sidor went to the wrong direction when Kent Patel was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 47th minute, Stan McKenzie had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 47 minutes, Minh Mosher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haïti FC and the Oakburn players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clarence Pollard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wawrzyniec Sidor having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With his leg Wawrzyniec Sidor managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Oakburn's Géraud Burgess fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Oakburn's René Desjardins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Coy Marseau in the 55th minute of play. In the 59th minute Coy Marseau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but René Desjardins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Coy Marseau made a precise shot to the right of René Desjardins. Oakburn's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Géraud Burgess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wawrzyniec Sidor having to interfere. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kent Patel's late challenge caught a Haïti FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kent Patel helped the player get up and apologised. Kent Patel hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the game, Laurent Kincaid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oakburn's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Haïti FC the free kick. 94 minutes into the match, Haïti FC's Charles Lundy broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Haïti FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Oakburn had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
