Merrill Hadley started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Ioco booed when Cordoba City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hervé Sizemore didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Mitch Ibarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hugo Talon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mitch Ibarra in the 9th minute of play. The Ioco fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Ioco's Mitch Ibarra looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 16 minutes, Bob Mallory mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ioco and the Cordoba City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ioco getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bob Mallory hit a great ball. Mitch Ibarra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ioco's Julio Dugan managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Don Duarte in the 25 minute of the game. In the 29thth minute of the game Emile McWilliams who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cordoba City's Hugo Talon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hervé Sizemore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelien Langelier having to interfere. Lucien Leal's late challenge caught a Cordoba City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucien Leal helped the player get up and apologised. Gaston Baker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Aurelien Langelier made a huge save. In the 47thth minute of the game Emile McWilliams who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cordoba City's Hugo Talon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donnell Pike was the one to do the kick off. Ioco's Bob Mallory got his second yellow card of the match in the 54th minute. The referee ordered Bob Mallory off the ground. Bob Mallory hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Julio Dugan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ioco's Aurelien Langelier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Judd in the 63rd minute of play. Emile McWilliams recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mitch Ibarra struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Hugo Talon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ioco. After some careless play in the Cordoba City defense, Mitch Ibarra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Talon. The Cordoba City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Talon should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Judd in the 77th minute of play forced Ioco's goalkeeper Aurelien Langelier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelien Langelier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donnell Pike in the 81st minute of the match. When Emile McWilliams fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ioco's protests and gave Emile McWilliams a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cordoba City booed when Ioco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emile McWilliams didn't get a good kick on the ball.
