Arthur Alonzo made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Lindsay Staples sent off a good shot on target. Lindsay Staples's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Arthur Alonzo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Christian Gee charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Gee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Matapedia booed when Gascons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Gee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaston Boyce hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Hilton Tracy came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Gascons's Jimmie Kenny. But to his dismay, Jimmie Kenny quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Warren Woodward's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hilton Tracy was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 21 minutes into the match, Gascons's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Boyce came free, but Arthur Alonzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Gascons's goalkeeper Arthur Alonzo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lindsay Staples. After having played for 37 minutes, Warren Woodward managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gascons's supporters crossed their fingers, but Warren Woodward was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute Gaston Boyce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Alonzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Gascons's Antonia Cahill got a free kick in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Gascons's Arthur Alonzo got control of the ball when Lindsay Staples tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 46th minute, one of Matapedia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Matapedia. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gaston Boyce made the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute Gaston Boyce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Alonzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matapedia's Lindsay Staples got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Gaston Boyce notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gascons's Arthur Alonzo. Arthur Alonzo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gascons's goalkeeper Arthur Alonzo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hilton Tracy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Warren Woodward, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gascons's Arthur Alonzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Boyce in the 78th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Gaston Boyce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matapedia's Hilton Tracy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Matapedia from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Jimmie Kenny could shoot a difficult shot in the 82nd minute, which Hilton Tracy however easily saved by the left post. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Lindsay Staples put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Arthur Alonzo. The supporters of Gascons booed when Matapedia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hyman Bartley didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gascons had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
