With an extended leg and a bit of luck Loup Worthington prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Angry Smurfs's Loup Worthington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cole Huber in the 45th minute of play. Paris Rodrigue showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruce Burch in the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cole Huber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isidore Dubeau couldn't finish the play. Loup Worthington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidore Dubeau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emon McCracken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Paris Rodrigue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Emon McCracken managed to get in a good position for a shot. Angry Smurfs's supporters rose to their feet, but Emon McCracken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paris Rodrigue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bruce Burch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute.
