The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Montes's Federico Guardiola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tolek Ratulowski in the 4th minute of play. Elia Besosa lost his temper 4 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 3rd minute, one of Montes:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Montes. After a defensive mix-up in Montes's zone, Danilo Dragranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Guardiola came out of the goal and Danilo Dragranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Montes's Federico Guardiola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Verdes in the 8th minute of play. Danilo Dragranda's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Federico Guardiola skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Pacifico Camarero fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montes's protests and gave Pacifico Camarero a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Montes getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Pacifico Camarero hit a great ball. Dino Ferrer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Federico Guardiola having to make a save. Danilo Dragranda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Federico Guardiola when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 26th match minute, Montes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Galguera to maneuver through the defense. Federico Guardiola acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 27th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Archibaldo Arnaez. 31 minutes into the match, Montes's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Carioca came free, but Federico Guardiola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Pacifico Camarero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Guillelmus Deco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tolek Ratulowski took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Federico Guardiola. Federico Guardiola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Danilo Dragranda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Federico Guardiola made a huge save. 42 minutes into the match, Marco Paniagua had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guillelmus Deco. VARZELONA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco Paniagua was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Danilo Dragranda's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Federico Guardiola skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Waldir Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Waldir Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Montes defense, Danilo Dragranda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Federico Guardiola. The Montes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Federico Guardiola should have stopped the shot. 67 minutes into the game, Danilo Dragranda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Federico Guardiola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute, Xzaver Suarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute Mauricio Galguera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillelmus Deco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Montes's Pacifico Camarero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Guillelmus Deco. That made the score 4-3 after 77 minutes of play. When VARZELONA's Danilo Dragranda in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montes's goalie prevented a goal. VARZELONA's Gaston Verdes got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pacifico Camarero kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Zuhaitz Borjas hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Marco Paniagua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danilo Dragranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Federico Guardiola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, VARZELONA's Waldir Carioca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Federico Guardiola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. For all the effort they put into the match, the Montes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for VARZELONA.
