In the 10th minute, Bazil Arismendi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Seme Dalaje received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Petri Carda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bazil Arismendi lost his temper 17 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Federacion AFC booed when PEÑAROL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bazil Arismendi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narciso Cardeño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Llin Magadan made a huge save. Llin Magadan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Maestre in the 22nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Federacion AFC's zone, Yader Urtiaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petri Carda came out of the goal and Yader Urtiaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute of the match, Gaitan Ballestero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Llin Magadan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 31st minute Leandro Maestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Llin Magadan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boni Lazaeta made in the 33rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Petrigai Pinos however managed to control. After 35 minutes, Gaitan Ballestero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Federacion AFC and the PEÑAROL players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Federacion AFC's Gaitan Ballestero got a free kick in the 35th minute. After recieving a nice pass, PEÑAROL's Godfredo Natos tried to score from far away in the 36th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Petri Carda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Seme Dalaje in the 40th minute of play. PEÑAROL were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Federacion AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Godfredo Natos took the corner. When Emiliano Tizon fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEÑAROL's protests and gave Emiliano Tizon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, PEÑAROL's Emiliano Tizon got a free kick in the 46th minute. Llin Magadan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henric Villalba in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patrido Alcazar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The PEÑAROL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Federacion AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 60th minute, when Seme Dalaje scored to the left of an out of position Petri Carda, making the score, 0-2. If Seme Dalaje had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Federacion AFC's goalkeeper Petri Carda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Endura Cascales. Emiliano Tizon hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. PEÑAROL walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
