The supporters of Piriapolis FC booed when Campeon del Siglo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manu Arcaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Piriapolis FC's Próspero Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Evarado Cazarez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Piriapolis FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Sebastian Lixandro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuelo Gavilan in the 25th minute of play forced Piriapolis FC's goalkeeper Fernandez Vielva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 minutes of play, Piriapolis FC's Luis Alberto Cubilla made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evarado Cazarez was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 29 played minutes Campeon del Siglo got a freekick which was hit by Monico Moreyre. In the 31st minute, Próspero Silva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piriapolis FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. A collision led to Campeon del Siglo getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Rito Baeza hit a great ball. In the 42ndth minute of the game Luis Alberto Cubilla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Campeon del Siglo's Evarado Cazarez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Marz Danzo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piriapolis FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 46th minute, Marz Danzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luis Alberto Cubilla made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Luis Alberto Cubilla put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Evarado Cazarez. When Americo Hernan fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Campeon del Siglo's protests and gave Americo Hernan a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Campeon del Siglo got a freekick which was hit by Americo Hernan. Costel Pădure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evarado Cazarez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luis Alberto Cubilla showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 63 minute of play. Evarado Cazarez came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Piriapolis FC's Próspero Silva. But to his dismay, Próspero Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. Luis Alberto Cubilla's late challenge caught a Campeon del Siglo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Alberto Cubilla helped the player get up and apologised. Luis Alberto Cubilla hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes Luis Alberto Cubilla rounded Campeon del Siglo's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-11. Evarado Cazarez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Alberto Cubilla in the 95th minute. Tello Tarriba took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernandez Vielva. Fernandez Vielva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-11. The Campeon del Siglo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Piriapolis FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
