Junquillar's Jonathan Quililongo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casimír Gebhard in the 7th minute of play. Juan Pedro Doursther hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute Simón Niza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Quililongo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Simón Niza notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Junquillar's Jonathan Quililongo. Jonathan Quililongo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the game, José Javier Catrileo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Junquillar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Deportes La Serena the free kick. In the 13th minute, José Javier Catrileo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the game, Casimír Gebhard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jonathan Quililongo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Club Deportes La Serena's Xaime Elorreaga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportes La Serena from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute, Casimír Gebhard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Javier Catrileo in the 26th minute of play forced Club Deportes La Serena's goalkeeper Xaime Elorreaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Club Deportes La Serena's goalkeeper Xaime Elorreaga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierre Uriarte. When Casimír Gebhard came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Club Deportes La Serena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casimír Gebhard couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when José Javier Catrileo made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Giron in the 52nd minute of play forced Club Deportes La Serena's goalkeeper Xaime Elorreaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Club Deportes La Serena's goal looked a bit too open when José Javier Catrileo came free, but Xaime Elorreaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xaime Elorreaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucero Angel in the 54th minute of the match. Casimír Gebhard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jonathan Quililongo made a huge save. Casimír Gebhard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Quililongo having to interfere. Juan Cristóbal Olaso hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Eusebio Triviño's late challenge caught a Club Deportes La Serena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusebio Triviño helped the player get up and apologised. Casimír Gebhard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xaime Elorreaga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justino Giron in the 79th minute of the match. Jonathan Quililongo came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportes La Serena's Casimír Gebhard. But to his dismay, Casimír Gebhard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucero Angel in the 85th minute of play forced Club Deportes La Serena's goalkeeper Xaime Elorreaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Casimír Gebhard managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportes La Serena's supporters rose to their feet, but Casimír Gebhard was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Quililongo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportes La Serena's zone, Pierre Uriarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xaime Elorreaga came out of the goal and Pierre Uriarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 96 minutes of play, Junquillar's José Javier Catrileo made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xaime Elorreaga was left in no man's land by his defense there!
