Huilipatagua's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Kirck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lázaro Avalos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the game, Huilipatagua's Abel Kirck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lázaro Avalos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Abel Kirck notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Tatara's Lázaro Avalos. Lázaro Avalos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 20 minutes, Disvandis Perfetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huilipatagua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Disvandis Perfetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amato Diez in the 28th minute of play forced Huilipatagua's goalkeeper Benedicto Ríos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Amato Diez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Ríos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 minutes, Leonides Larenas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Huilipatagua and the Tatara players grew even worse after the yellow card. Leonides Larenas kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. A hard shot 37 in the game by Nacho Badilla from a close distance when the talented Benedicto Ríos managed to make a qualified save. Huilipatagua's players were relieved. Nacho Badilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedicto Ríos having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amato Diez to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Huilipatagua got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Mistral. Nacho Badilla hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Huilipatagua's zone, Amato Diez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedicto Ríos came out of the goal and Amato Diez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disvandis Perfetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Disvandis Perfetti fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lázaro Avalos, passed just outside the right post. Disvandis Perfetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Lázaro Avalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Huilipatagua's Elodio Zurieta got a free kick in the 74th minute. Amato Diez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Isadoro Aguirrebeña sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tatara's Lázaro Avalos didn't even have to move. Disvandis Perfetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Lázaro Avalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huilipatagua's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
