Diego Armando Davison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomé Edwards, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 7 played minutes Tenaun got a freekick which was hit by Topocho Gana. Tenaun's Celedonio Jeldrez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogerio Pfingsthorn in the 8th minute of play. A collision led to Saxamar FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Rogerio Pfingsthorn hit a great ball. Diego Armando Davison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomé Edwards in the 13th minute of play. Bartolomé Edwards received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Diego Armando Davison tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Tenaun getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carlos Gustavo Falcone hit a great ball. In the 21st minute Eriberto Mercado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celedonio Jeldrez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Eriberto Mercado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eriberto Mercado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Celedonio Jeldrez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celedonio Jeldrez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Gafo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Aníbal Gafo came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Saxamar FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Gafo couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bartolomé Edwards was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Saxamar FC's Eriberto Mercado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. After some careless play in the Saxamar FC defense, Bartolomé Edwards kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Armando Davison. The Saxamar FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Armando Davison should have stopped the shot. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tenaun's goalkeeper Celedonio Jeldrez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Saxamar FC booed when Tenaun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruesga Ochoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bartolomé Edwards struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Diego Armando Davison didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tenaun. Mónico Denton hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 89 minutes in the game, Eriberto Mercado fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Celedonio Jeldrez having to interfere. If Eriberto Mercado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
