Spectators: 6673 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) Marumbe AD's Zé Pedro Vides started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Felippe Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 4 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marumbe AD the free kick. A collision led to Portinha getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Carlos Fernando Pimenta hit a great ball. Felipe Alagoano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Zé Pedro Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Cícero Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felippe Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luiz Travassos having to interfere. When Baltazar Andrade, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 12 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Pedro Luiz Travassos was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Marumbe AD's zone, Felippe Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luiz Travassos came out of the goal and Felippe Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 16 played minutes Marumbe AD got a freekick which was hit by Tony Mendonça. Portinha's Baltazar Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Marumbe AD booed when Portinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Portinha getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Rômulo Moura hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes Portinha got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Furlan. 26 minutes into the match, Adrianinho Sena notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Portinha's Cícero Tinoco. Cícero Tinoco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 31 minutes into the game, Felippe Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Pedro Luiz Travassos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felippe Seco in the 34th minute of play forced Marumbe AD's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Felippe Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th match minute, Marumbe AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. If Felippe Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felippe Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. Zé Pedro Vides recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Marumbe AD's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Travassos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felippe Seco. After a defensive mix-up in Marumbe AD's zone, Ricardo Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Luiz Travassos came out of the goal and Ricardo Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felippe Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Luiz Travassos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Marumbe AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Quintal to maneuver through the defense. Marumbe AD's Pedro Luiz Travassos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Marumbe AD from getting a goal against them. José Carlos Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luiz Travassos having to interfere. When Felippe Seco came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Portinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felippe Seco couldn't finish the play. Pedro Luiz Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Carlos Vale in the 63rd minute of the match. Felippe Seco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Luiz Travassos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 70 minutes into the match, Felippe Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Luiz Travassos. Marumbe AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felippe Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Pedro Luiz Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Seco in the 76th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, José Carlos Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portinha's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Carlos Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Felippe Seco could shoot a difficult shot in the 82nd minute, which Pedro Luiz Travassos however easily saved by the left post. Felippe Seco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Luiz Travassos having to make a save. Ricardo Paiva struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Pedro Luiz Travassos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portinha. In the 87th minute, Felippe Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portinha fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felippe Seco got free with Pedro Luiz Travassos in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 95 played minutes Marumbe AD got a freekick which was hit by Noel Quintal. Portinha's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
