If Diguinho Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Samuel McGhee put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tales Martins. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel McGhee in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tales Martins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th match minute, Palmelo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Régis Viana to maneuver through the defense. Samuel McGhee took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tales Martins. Tales Martins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Palestra Eterno's Agostinho Carvalho in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palmelo FC's goalie prevented a goal. Samuel McGhee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tales Martins having to interfere. Tales Martins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel McGhee's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel McGhee in the 31st minute of play forced Palmelo FC's goalkeeper Tales Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Palmelo FC's Tales Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel McGhee in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Samuel McGhee in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tales Martins saved Palmelo FC from getting behind. 39 minutes into the game, one of Palmelo FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for Palestra Eterno. Fred Melo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tales Martins. 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diguinho Abreu to make the kick off. Samuel McGhee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tales Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 56 minutes, Samuel McGhee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra Eterno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel McGhee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Tales Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st play minute Samuel McGhee came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tales Martins. 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel McGhee got free with Tales Martins in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute, Romário Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jorge Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Gerber struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Tales Martins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra Eterno. 72 minutes into the match, Samuel McGhee notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Palmelo FC's Tales Martins. Tales Martins was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Samuel McGhee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Tales Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ediberto de Senna fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmelo FC's protests and gave Ediberto de Senna a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmelo FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ediberto de Senna hit a great ball. Samuel McGhee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the game, Régis Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmelo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra Eterno the free kick. After 81 played minutes Palmelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Régis Viana. A hard shot 83 in the game by Samuel McGhee from a close distance when the talented Tales Martins managed to make a qualified save. Palmelo FC's players were relieved. Jorge Messias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tales Martins read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Palestra Eterno's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
