When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Armandinho Moura took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Stavros Kakadelis to make any attempt to save it. After 10 played minutes, Corredores's Claudinho Veiga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stavros Kakadelis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Corredores reached it. Anísio Santos struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Enéas Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goitacaz. Nilson França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Enéas Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Alessandro Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enéas Saraiva was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. When Cipriano Netto fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Goitacaz's Stavros Kakadelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iuri Rezende in the 37th minute of play. Stavros Kakadelis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cipriano Netto went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The wind increased when Alessandro Matos made the kick off in the second half. Patrício Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stavros Kakadelis having to interfere. Stavros Kakadelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Cássio Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Corredores were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Goitacaz's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Claudinho Veiga took the corner. The supporters of Corredores booed when Goitacaz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hílton Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anísio Santos couldn't finish the play. Nilson França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enéas Saraiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Matos in the 77th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Corredores got a freekick which was hit by Patrício Borges. If Nilson França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alessandro Matoss short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Enéas Saraiva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alessandro Matos scored 2-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enéas Saraiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Corredores's Iuri Rezende got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Corredores succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Goitacaz had controlled the match.
