After 8 played minutes C.R.Federal got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Valladares. Kiko Oliveira lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 11 played minutes Vaduz FC got a freekick which was hit by Kiko Oliveira. If Renatinho Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edmundo Santana came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the C.R.Federal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Santana couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gino Arce got free with Francisco Ferreira in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sílvio Luís Valladares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Francisco Ferreira made a huge save. 24 minutes into the match, Vaduz FC's goalkeeper Francisco Ferreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Santana. 29 minutes into the game, Nilmar Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.R.Federal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vaduz FC the free kick. Manfredo Siqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Santana charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmundo Santana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd minute, Edmundo Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeferson Zilles hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Nilmar Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vaduz FC's zone, Ramón da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Ferreira came out of the goal and Ramón da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramón da Silva in the 43rd minute of play. If Gino Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Edmundo Santana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francisco Ferreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ramón da Silva made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Cléberson de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the match, C.R.Federal's goal looked a bit too open when Geraldo Dracena came free, but Manfredo Siqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renatinho Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute Ramón da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manfredo Siqueira came out of the goal and Geraldo Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geraldo Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Vaduz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson de Mendonça came free, but Francisco Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Dracena in the 77th minute of play forced C.R.Federal's goalkeeper Manfredo Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Geraldo Dracena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo Siqueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geraldo Dracena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manfredo Siqueira having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Jeferson Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vaduz FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeferson Zilles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manfredo Siqueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jeferson Zilles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the C.R.Federal players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
