Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Fausto da Silveira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Gonçalo Neto took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raimundo de Salles. Raimundo de Salles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Catonho FC's zone, Fausto da Silveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Cabral came out of the goal and Fausto da Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raimundo de Salles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonçalo Neto went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 16th minute, Fausto da Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Durvalino Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jânio Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jânio Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Catonho FC got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Linares. Erasmo Linhares struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Erik Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santana FC. In the 30th match minute, Catonho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Gonçalo Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Raimundo de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jânio Linares hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Fausto da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Erik Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santana FC. Fausto da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Cabral having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Santana FC's Fausto da Silveira got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Catonho FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Durvalino Maranhense to make the kick off. The supporters of Santana FC booed when Catonho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raimundo de Salles made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Durvalino Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonçalo Neto in the 68th minute of play forced Santana FC's goalkeeper Raimundo de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Gonçalo Neto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raimundo de Salles was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After 74 minutes, Erasmo Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santana FC and the Catonho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Santana FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Linhares to maneuver through the defense. Catonho FC's Percy Valadares shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Raimundo de Salles but with some difficulty. 78 minutes into the game, Gonçalo Neto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catonho FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santana FC the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Catonho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Neto to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Santana FC's Raimundo de Salles got control of the ball when Durvalino Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fausto da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Linhares hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute Gonçalo Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Catonho FC's Gonçalo Neto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Raimundo de Salles. Raimundo de Salles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Catonho FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
