Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Ioannis Täublin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 5 minutes, Osvaldo Antunes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jacareí FC and the Melado players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Jacareí FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Osvaldo Antunes hit a great ball. Flavinho Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Silveira in the 6th minute of the match. Melado's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vinícius de Lara in the 8th minute. It was a well-played corner which Gil Carvalho managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, José Vítor Silveira put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Flavinho Domingues. In the 13th minute José Vítor Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jacareí FC's Paulinho de Alcântara got a free kick in the 16th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Kjell Hernström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melado's supporters rose to their feet, but Kjell Hernström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavinho Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If José Vítor Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doni Maciel hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. José Vítor Silveira might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavinho Domingues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vítor Silveira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st minute Kjell Hernström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Vítor Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Domingues having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Jacareí FC's Reinaldo Coutinho in the 39th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Ioannis Täublin was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Melado through an amazing save. José Vítor Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Flavinho Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ioannis Täublin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinaldo Coutinho in the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reinaldo Coutinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, José Vítor Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melado's supporters rose to their feet, but José Vítor Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Melado's Kjell Hernström slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Flavinho Domingues. That made the score 0-2 after 62 minutes of play. Ioannis Täublin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinaldo Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ioannis Täublin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osvaldo Antunes went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Coutinho in the 70th minute of play forced Melado's goalkeeper Ioannis Täublin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute, Melado's Júnior Silveira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Júnior Silveira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Melado protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Júnior Silveira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 73 minutes into the match, Jacareí FC's Osvaldo Antunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ioannis Täublin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Georg Ingemarsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute, Osvaldo Antunes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacareí FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Ioannis Täublin came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Jacareí FC's Luís Guilherme Paraibano. But to his dismay, Luís Guilherme Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. When Dedé de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Melado fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedé de Sena couldn't finish the play. Jacareí FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
