The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Décio Severo didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Paqueta SC's Jonas Brasil shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Vladimir de Barros hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Schmidt got free with Décio Severo in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paqueta SC! Alfredão Macedo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Fausto Amorim let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 54th minute shot 2-1 at rihgt post. If Cristian de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vladimir de Barros during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Grêmio UG booed when Paqueta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Paqueta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian de Senna came free, but José Pedro de Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Paqueta SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Quirino to maneuver through the defense. When Amauri Quirino fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paqueta SC's protests and gave Amauri Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Paqueta SC's Amauri Quirino got a free kick in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Mané Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paqueta SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mané Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Décio Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amauri Quirino hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Cristian de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paqueta SC's José Pedro de Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Paqueta SC from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the game, Jonas Brasil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paqueta SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio UG the free kick. In the 92nd minute, Jonas Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the Paqueta SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
