The tension between the Defenestrados and the Risada SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Augusto Jacinto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Willian Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Risada SC's Edson Pires got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 48th minute, Gilson Veloso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Defenestrados fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
