Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Serrania's Almir Messias started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cauã Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Republica's Victor Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elias Cavalcante in the 9th minute of play. Victor Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Almir Messias in the 10th minute of play. Victor Barral came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Serrania's Almir Messias. But to his dismay, Almir Messias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Olívio Antunes made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Leonel Pombal sent off a good shot on target. Serrania's Olívio Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Serrania from getting a goal against them. When Benjamim Castro came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Republica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamim Castro couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Afonsinho Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Leonel Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the game, Afonsinho Araújo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Victor Barral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Victor Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Benjamim Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olívio Antunes having to interfere. After the first half Serrania were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Pombal made a kick off. If Benjamim Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 60th minute, Elias Cavalcante left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Serrania fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After 66 minutes of play, Republica's Eriberto de Sousa made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olívio Antunes was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Benjamim Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Eriberto de Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 75 minutes, Eriberto de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Republica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serrania's Oswaldo Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Almir Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Barral having to interfere. Victor Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Elias Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Republica's Victor Barral got control of the ball when Elias Cavalcante tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonel Pombal struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Olívio Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Republica. Olívio Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Pombal in the 93rd minute of the match. Serrania's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
