Furia F.C's Válter de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, Téo Baiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malhadas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Furia F.C the free kick. The supporters of Furia F.C booed when Malhadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilson Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válter de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Malhadas getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Nuno Campidelis hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Hulusi İşkembeci sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Malhadas's Nilson Faria didn't even have to move. Dráuzio Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Válter de Almeida made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Malhadas's zone, Válter de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson Faria came out of the goal and Válter de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sylvester Hammenshøj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráuzio Paraíba in the 57th minute of the match. In the 60thth minute of the game Válter de Almeida who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malhadas's Nilson Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Válter de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Faria having to interfere. Sylvester Hammenshøj stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dráuzio Paraíba's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Válter de Almeida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilson Faria having to make a save. 72 minutes into the game, one of Furia F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 75 minutes, Malhadas's Téo Baiano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sylvester Hammenshøj. After having played for 81 minutes, Eriberto Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Furia F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Sabóia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válter de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Faria having to interfere. In the 91st minute of the match Jamesso Galo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nilson Faria showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Orlando Mazza fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malhadas's protests and gave Orlando Mazza a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Furia F.C booed when Malhadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Augusto Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malhadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sylvester Hammenshøj breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
