Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Inácio Meireles made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Maurício Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irundiara's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurício Siqueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualter Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santana's goalkeeper Gualter Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Santana's Benedito Lopes got a free kick in the 16th minute. Maurício Siqueira struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Gualter Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irundiara. The supporters of Irundiara booed when Santana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Carlos Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maurício Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mazinho Dantas's late challenge caught a Irundiara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mazinho Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Mazinho Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gualter Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Inácio Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurício Siqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gualter Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurício Siqueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maurício Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Silveira having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Natanael Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. Maurício Siqueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Gualter Silveira made a huge save. Válbson Nascimento hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Natanael Corrêa might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adriano Ceresso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Natanael Corrêa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd minute, Maurício Siqueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Meireles in the 69th minute of play forced Santana's goalkeeper Gualter Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gualter Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Meireles in the 74th minute of the match. The supporters of Irundiara booed when Santana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Inácio Meireles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gualter Silveira. The goal made the score 0-3. In the 94th match minute, Irundiara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco de Toledo to maneuver through the defense. The Irundiara supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Irundiara would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
