The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Zézinho Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. Edson Matos was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leopoldo Amorim. After having played for 24 minutes, Giuseppe Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apuires SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giuseppe Perez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zé Augusto Mota hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Apuires SC's Edson Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Apuires SC from getting a goal against them.

The wind increased when Fernandão da Silva made the kick off in the second half. 2-0 became the score in the 54th minute when Zacarias Palmeira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Zacarias Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Matos having to interfere. In the 60th minute Zézinho Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zacarias Palmeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75thth minute of the game Zacarias Palmeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Apuires SC's Edson Matos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Apuires SC's Zé Augusto Mota got his second yellow card of the match in the 75th minute. The referee ordered Zé Augusto Mota off the ground. Zé Augusto Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Zézinho Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The supporters of Apuires SC booed when Guapimirim FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Guapimirim FC's Cauã Brasil got control of the ball when Giuseppe Perez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zézinho Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zézinho Vale struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Edson Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guapimirim FC. Zézinho Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Matos having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Guapimirim FC had played much better football throughout.
