A well placed José Dias short distance shot in the 17th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Ricardinho Quirino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorian Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that José Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frédson Barral was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 27th minute, Váldson Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Dias couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Dias in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frédson Barral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

José Dias struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Frédson Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for União Campograndense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian Secco in the 55th minute of play forced União Campograndense's goalkeeper Ricardinho Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, União Campograndense's Ricardinho Quirino got control of the ball when Sidney Dantas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, José Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In a very dangerous position, a player in União Campograndense fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! For all the effort they put into the match, the Trempes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for União Campograndense.
