Erivaldo Maciel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenílson Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mário Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Ipigua's Naldo Vaz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roberto de Lara. That made the score 2-0 after 45 minutes of play.

The wind increased when Naldo Vaz made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Naldo Vaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roberto de Lara was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Erivaldo Maciel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Régis Pombal. The supporters of Baixo FC booed when Ipigua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Baixo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Rosado came free, but Roberto de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Tião Hoffmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th match minute, Ipigua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Rosado to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ipigua fully deserved thier win.
