Alfredão Simão came out of the goal and Hílton Mattos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norberto Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reginaldo Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ulysses Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmyr Prata hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Hílton Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Betão Sá's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 49thth minute, Ulysses Viana skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hílton Mattos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Reginaldo Leão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aguapei's Ulysses Viana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reinaldo Coelho hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Norberto Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 58 minutes, Norberto Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Os Vira-Latas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Aguapei's Hílton Mattos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfredão Simão. Alfredão Simão yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Nilton Fernandez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 70th minute, Sandro de Carvalho fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hílton Mattos in the 79th minute of play forced Os Vira-Latas's goalkeeper Alfredão Simão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norberto Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norberto Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Viana having to interfere. Alfredão Simão made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Sandro de Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, Aguapei's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Neto came free, but Ulysses Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hílton Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hílton Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Aguapei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hílton Mattos couldn't finish the play.
