After a defensive mix-up in optmuns's zone, Jefferson Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Augusto Ramos came out of the goal and Jefferson Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roberto Faustino's late challenge caught a Firmo EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Faustino helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, optmuns's Roberto Faustino got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Jefferson Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Firmo EC's Pedrinho Vides got control of the ball when Nelson Dias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jefferson Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelson Dias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Jefferson Hoffmann made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Augusto Ramos. optmuns's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 56th play minutes Nelson Dias shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Pedrinho Vides and just under the crossbar into goal. After 60 played minutes optmuns got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Neves. 61 minutes into the game, Jefferson Hoffmann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Augusto Ramos. The audience was convinced that Nelson Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrinho Vides was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Gil Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Ramos having to interfere. After 73 played minutes optmuns got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Faustino. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jefferson Hoffmann got free with Carlos Augusto Ramos in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedrinho Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Nelson Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedrinho Vides. Firmo EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelson Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Jefferson Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
