The referee ignored Flamengo GO's protests and gave Fellipe Pirani a yellow card for diving instead. Edgar Bueno's late challenge caught a Flamengo GO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Bueno helped the player get up and apologised. Vitinho Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Róbson Romero made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gino Donato got free with Róbson Romero in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, E.C. Bahia's Róbson Romero got control of the ball when Vitinho Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leopoldo Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Lúcio Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. E.C. Bahia's Róbson Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Soeiro in the 58th minute of play. Róbson Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Soeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. With a little luck, Flamengo GO's Lenílson Quadros got control of the ball when Lúcio Aguiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lenílson Quadros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jean Branco went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 84th match minute, Flamengo GO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Sá to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgar Bueno kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lenílson Quadros. That made the score 1-4 in the 91 minute of play. Giuseppe Soeiro succeeded in the game's 95th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-4. E.C. Bahia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
