Valdemar Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Carioca having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Sílvio Luiz Ferraz could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Clemente Carioca however easily saved by the left post. Edgar Mota scored 2-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Celsinho Quintal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
