Spectators: 7234 (Terracing: 5427, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 143) Horácio Rodrigues started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Hélio Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Arruda in the 5th minute of play. Hugo Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Vieira having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Luiz Fábio Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brown Spiders's Oswaldo Favoretto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Brown Spiders from getting a goal against them. Horácio Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Favoretto having to interfere. 25 minutes into the game, Armando Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brown Spiders's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marrecoteco A.B the free kick. In the 26th match minute, Brown Spiders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Corrêa to maneuver through the defense. When Brown Spiders's Gilmar Pirani in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marrecoteco A.B's goalie prevented a goal. In the 30th minute Hugo Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio Rodrigues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oswaldo Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Hélio Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luiz Fábio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilmar Pirani in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélio Vieira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Brown Spiders getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ricardinho Meireles hit a great ball. Brown Spiders's Oswaldo Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fábio Moraes in the 61st minute of play. If Luiz Fábio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fábio Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Oswaldo Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oswaldo Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Corrêa hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. When Luiz Fábio Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Marrecoteco A.B fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Fábio Moraes couldn't finish the play. Gilmar Pirani's late challenge caught a Marrecoteco A.B's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilmar Pirani helped the player get up and apologised. In the 82nd match minute, Brown Spiders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Pirani to maneuver through the defense. Horácio Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Brown Spiders's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Moraes came free, but Oswaldo Favoretto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Horácio Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marrecoteco A.B's supporters rose to their feet, but Horácio Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Favoretto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
