The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Pesqueira AD getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Carlos Alberto Aguiar hit a great ball. Humberto Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 7th minute Humberto Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrício das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barracas's Patrício das Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Francisco Ribeiro in the 8th minute of play. Patrício das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patrício das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pesqueira AD's zone, Tiago Brasil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Augusto Couto came out of the goal and Tiago Brasil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luizão Passos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but João Augusto Couto firmly grabbed it by the left post. Patrício das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Senna in the 23rd minute of play. Patrício das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Francisco Ribeiro in the 25th minute of the match. Humberto Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, Pesqueira AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Senna to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Luís Paulo Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Humberto Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes Barracas got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo Leite. Patrício das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Francisco Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. After having played for 42 minutes, João Francisco Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pesqueira AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Francisco Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrício das Neves having to interfere. Falcão Cruz hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Humberto Senna stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Luizão Passos came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Barracas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizão Passos couldn't finish the play. João Francisco Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Patrício das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Augusto Couto came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Barracas's Luizão Passos. But to his dismay, Luizão Passos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 65 played minutes Barracas got a freekick which was hit by Falcão Cruz. 69 minutes into the match, João Francisco Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrício das Neves. Barracas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Francisco Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpected shot in the 75th minute by João Francisco Ribeiro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 76 minutes, Falcão Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barracas and the Pesqueira AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Pesqueira AD booed when Barracas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ricardo Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pesqueira AD's protests and gave Ricardo Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pesqueira AD! 90 minutes into the match, Barracas's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Senna came free, but Patrício das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 93 minutes, Humberto Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pesqueira AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barracas were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Pesqueira AD for a fine match.
