Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when José Maria Chaves made the kick off which started today's match. If Oséas Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the game, Soca-Nelas f.c's Gláuber Zonta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juvenal Mendonça made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Soca-Nelas f.c's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Baltazar de Amorim scored to the left of an out of position José Carlos Tande, making the score, 1-1. Basílio Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Juvenal Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oséas Baiano went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Moncao! 26 minutes into the match, Moncao's goal looked a bit too open when Gláuber Zonta came free, but Juvenal Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Matos scored 1-4 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juvenal Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gláuber Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Mendonça having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Moncao's goal looked a bit too open when Edu Almeida came free, but Juvenal Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juvenal Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséas Baiano in the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gláuber Zonta to make the kick off. Edu Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Mendonça having to interfere. A collision led to Moncao getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jânio de Medeiros hit a great ball. Moncao's Juvenal Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Andrade in the 60th minute of play. Juvenal Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Gláuber Zonta sent off a good shot on target. Gláuber Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Soca-Nelas f.c's Oséas Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 71 minutes, Paulão Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moncao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulão Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oséas Baiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gláuber Zonta did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-5 to the left of a surprised Juvenal Mendonça 78 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the game, Moncao's Luís Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Carlos Tande made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. When Narciso Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moncao's protests and gave Narciso Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moncao getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Narciso Gaspar hit a great ball. The supporters of Soca-Nelas f.c booed when Moncao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltazar de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Gláuber Zonta notched a goal, 2-6, to the right of Moncao's Juvenal Mendonça. Juvenal Mendonça was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Maria Chaves in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Carlos Tande prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Soca-Nelas f.c's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
