Belmiro Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Marcos dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Belmiro Sabóia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ulysses Tasso went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Marcos dos Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Belmiro Sabóia having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celsinho Mendonça in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sydney Mineiro saved Piranj from getting behind. In the 24th minute Marcos dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belmiro Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Tasso in the 26th minute of the match. Marcos dos Santos hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Piranj got a freekick which was hit by Gerson Valadares. The supporters of Piranj booed when Itaquahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adalmo Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itaquahy's Belmiro Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Tasso in the 44th minute of play. Ulysses Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belmiro Sabóia having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

A collision led to Itaquahy getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Felipe Simão hit a great ball. If Ulysses Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Itaquahy's José Carneiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sydney Mineiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ulysses Tasso made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 62ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Belmiro Sabóia would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 62nd minute, Pedrão Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulysses Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Celsinho Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Itaquahy's goalkeeper Belmiro Sabóia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulysses Tasso. Celsinho Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tales Marquez hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Itaquahy's Felipe Simão got a free kick in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Ulysses Tasso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Belmiro Sabóia. Itaquahy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulysses Tasso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 95th minute, Celsinho Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itaquahy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Despite being the better team, Itaquahy failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
