The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when TOP™ - Cebolandia F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michel Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Borussia Dortmund. Walmyr Aparecido stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chiquinho Costa. 0-2. The audience was convinced that Mané Saldanha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelo Toledo was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. After the first half Borussia Dortmund were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 57 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Aparecido. Borussia Dortmund's Angelo Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Nóbrega in the 64th minute of play. Angelo Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Saldanha in the 69th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Doni Nóbrega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erasmo Custódio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Borussia Dortmund supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Borussia Dortmund would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
