Berlenga EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 7th minute of the match Jefferson Branco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebastião Vander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With 9 minutes on the clock, Anísio Meirelles commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 10th minute, Anísio Meirelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Américo Esteves in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With his leg Angelo Toledo managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Berlenga EC's Américo Esteves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Américo Estevess short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Angelo Toledo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Diamantino Quintal charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diamantino Quintal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Quintal. Borussia Dortmund's Angelo Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Esteves in the 23rd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Víktor Neiva kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Angelo Toledo. That made the score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Berlenga EC's João Vítor das Neves got a free kick in the 28th minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Erasmo Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borussia Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Custódio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Víktor Neiva was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Américo Esteves did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Angelo Toledo 35 minutes into the match. When Víktor Neiva came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Berlenga EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Víktor Neiva couldn't finish the play. Berlenga EC's Américo Esteves got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Américo Esteves might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelo Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Américo Esteves ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Custódio to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Américo Esteves stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erasmo Custódio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Sebastião Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Jefferson Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borussia Dortmund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Berlenga EC the free kick. Berlenga EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Víktor Neiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When João Vítor das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Berlenga EC fans jumped to their feet. In the 83rdth minute of the game Américo Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Dortmund's Angelo Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Allan Neves hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If Walmyr Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that Berlenga EC were the better team. Berlenga EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
