After 20 minutes of play, Cutiu's Flavinho Hermes made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cido Sá was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th match minute, Athletic United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléberson Leal to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Gilberto de Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cido Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. 39 minutes into the match, Gilberto de Carvalho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cido Sá. Athletic United FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gilberto de Carvalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Athletic United FC's Cido Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulisses Marinho in the 43rd minute of play.

Luiz Guilherme Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Acácio Netto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the match, Pedrão Teixeira notched a goal, 1-7, to the right of Cutiu's Luiz Guilherme Lopes.
