Jutahy's supporters rose to their feet, but Agilo Hanisch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelson Campidelis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juras Jonušas got free with Nelson Campidelis in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12th minute Agilo Hanisch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juras Jonušas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Campidelis having to interfere. Dagoberto Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. A hard shot 21 in the game by Juras Jonušas from a close distance when the talented Nelson Campidelis managed to make a qualified save. CD Catalunya's players were relieved. Nelson Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agilo Hanisch, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Juras Jonušas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Nelson Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nelson Campidelis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agilo Hanisch in the 39th minute of play. Juras Jonušass short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Nelson Campidelis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lino Tande was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Juras Jonušas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelson Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in CD Catalunya's zone, Flávio Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelson Campidelis came out of the goal and Flávio Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nelson Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juras Jonušas in the 89th minute of the match. Lino Tande kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Agilo Hanisch sped through CD Catalunya's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nelson Campidelis.
