José Alvarenga was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Américo Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Prata in the 14th minute of play forced Tomezinho's goalkeeper José Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adolfo Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Alvarenga having to interfere. Betinho Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vítor Antunes in the 18th minute of play. Mário Prata took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Alvarenga. José Alvarenga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After 22 played minutes Bairrinho got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Meirelles. After 24 played minutes, Bairrinho's João Augusto Vergílio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Alvarenga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bairrinho reached it. Betinho Arce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Américo Arósio in the 35th minute. After 41 played minutes Bairrinho got a freekick which was hit by Amauri Moraes.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adolfo Meirelles made a kick off. Betinho Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Américo Arósio in the 51st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evandro Moura in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Betinho Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Antunes in the 54th minute of play forced Bairrinho's goalkeeper Betinho Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Adolfo Meirelles fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of José Alvarenga, passed just outside the right post. In the 58th match minute, Tomezinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Meirelles in the 60th minute of play forced Tomezinho's goalkeeper José Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Meirelles in the 61st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adolfo Meirelles in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Alvarenga saved Tomezinho from getting behind. Américo Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Arce having to interfere. João Augusto Vergílio hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Bairrinho's zone, Américo Arósio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Arce came out of the goal and Américo Arósio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mário Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. João Augusto Vergílio hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Evandro Moura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92ndth minute of the game Vítor Antunes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bairrinho's Betinho Arce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Evandro Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Betinho Arce was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
