Durval Valladares came out of the goal and Romeu Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Puba's Fernandinho Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Lago in the 68th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Amadeu Mangueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernandinho Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geraldo Lago in the 82nd minute of the match. Fernandinho Quintal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, André Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Combate SS's supporters rose to their feet, but André Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 101st minute the ball was on its way in behind Puba's goalkeeper Fernandinho Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Puba's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
