Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jacinto Paes made the kick off and thus started the match. After having played for 7 minutes, Vitinho Correia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Comercial FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitinho Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitinho Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Fontes having to interfere. If Luiz Eduardo Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Jacinto Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 17th minute by Cristiano Paraibano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 21st minute, Edgard Rosado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horácio Mazza was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Horácio Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Horácio Mazza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Eduardo Meira went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 32 minutes, Edgard Rosado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sabia EC and the Comercial FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Comercial FC's Agnaldo Meirelles was substituted for Dráuzio Araújo. After 33 played minutes Sabia EC got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Rosado. After 35 minutes of play, Sabia EC's Luiz Eduardo Meira made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horácio Mazza was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sabia EC's Edgard Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Sabia EC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Edgard Lopez made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Comercial FC's goalkeeper Horácio Mazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Eduardo Meira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Lopez in the 55th minute of play forced Comercial FC's goalkeeper Horácio Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Comercial FC's goalkeeper Horácio Mazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Eduardo Meira. In the 58th match minute, Sabia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dito de Lara to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Sabia EC's zone, José Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Fontes came out of the goal and José Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th match minute, Sabia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Novaes to maneuver through the defense. Ismael Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Paraibano in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Comercial FC's Vitinho Correia got a free kick in the 64th minute. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Edgard Lopez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cristiano Paraibano hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Vitinho Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristiano Paraibano might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ismael Fontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristiano Paraibano ran back to his position shaking his head.
